June!
Aliya is initiating a new volunteering group encouraging the youth to give of themselves to others called GIVE, whereby the youth will have an opportunity to get involved with local organisations dealing with the welfare of the community.
Aliya is a drop-in centre dedicated to serving the youth in our community who seek an alternative to the mainstream Jewish institutions. The warm, friendly and non-judgmental environment at ALIYA encourages self-expression, builds self-esteem and creates lasting relationships, whilst supporting career development.
Employment provides social connectivity and is important to social status and identity. Research has shown that employment can reduce negative mental health symptoms, build self esteem and self worth as well as increase confidence, responsibility and independence. Actively engaging in work can foster hope, participation and a sense of a better, brighter future. At Aliya Youth Space, we aim to assist our young people in developing their personal interests, strengths, skills and experience whilst helping them find appropriate employment opportunities.Type your paragraph here.
